In East London, South Asian people have some of the highest rates of heart disease, diabetes, and poor health in the UK. East London Genes & Health is a research study, led by Queen Mary University of London, set up to help fight against these and other major diseases. We provide community based outreach to Pakistani and Bangladeshi populations across East London – developing community awareness, support and sample collection. Over the past year we ran outreach stalls and events, across east London boroughs, engaging with people and collecting samples for the study.
