A lack of awareness of cancer symptoms and late diagnosis is linked with poorer survival outcomes. We are working alongside local organisations and community volunteers to help change this. Running a range of outreach stalls, workshops and training across East London we are:
Increasing public awareness of the symptoms of cancer
Reducing negative attitudes to cancer
Encouraging early presentation
Through this work we hope to improve earlier diagnosis of cancer and the chances of survival. We are currently recruiting participants and volunteers from at risk communities to take part in workshops and group activities and help us engage members of the public to raise their awareness of cancer.
