Project Officer - Sure STEPS Peer Support Project
We are recruiting a Bilingual (Bengali) Project Officer to join our Sure STEPS team. We are expanding the programme to train a new cohort of volunteer peer supporters and the successful candidate will help us with much of the ‘behind the scenes’ work of the programme, including:
helping us recruit, train and on-board the new cohort of volunteers
act as a friendly first point of contact to volunteers
ensuring records are kept up to date in compliance with GDPR
assisting the matching of parents and volunteers and supporting their journey together
sending out referral information and links to local partners eg: schools, GPs, health visitors and midwives
raising and documenting any safeguarding concerns per our safeguarding policy.
The successful candidate will be friendly and approachable and able to work well with people across all organisational levels, both at Social Action for Health and in the wider Tower Hamlets community. They will need to be pro-active and self-motivated and have enthusiasm for the project and people we are working with.

Key information:
Contract - One-year fixed term. Strong possibility of extension. Immediate start if possible.
Hours - 14 hours per week. Will include Friday mornings in term time.
Flexibility - Flexible Working available. Open to discussion. Exact hours to be agreed.
Salary - £27,750 per annum FTE pro rata to hours worked.
Location - Based in our office (Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets E1 5HU) and working from home on a hybrid / flexible basis subject to agreement. In-person work in the community will be required.
